DOT PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS

What to Expect

Excel Chiropractic provides DOT physical examinations in Sioux Falls, SD. Dr. Corey Touney is a Certified Medical Examiner (CME) and typically offers same-day or next day appointments. If you have a company with multiple drivers needing physicals, we can schedule appointments and set up billing in advance. Once your exam is finished, Dr. Touney will fill out your Medical Examination Report for Commercial Driver Fitness Determination form. You’ll also receive a summary and receipt.

Your exam will meet all DOT regulations and will include:

• Health History Review
• Immunization Review
• Basic Physical Exam
• Vision Check, Color Vision Check, and Hearing Test
• Height and Weight Screening
• Blood Pressure Check
• Urine Analysis

What to Bring with You

While the exam itself won’t take long, it’s important that you arrive fully prepared in order to prevent delays in receiving your DOT medical certificate. Some medical conditions may make it necessary for you to provide additional information and/or medical records, such as:

1) Eye glasses, contact lenses, or hearing aids

2) A list of your current medications.

Prescriptions for pain, anxiety, attention deficit disorder, etc., require documentation/letter from the treating provider, including contact information and treatment recommendations while performing your job duties.

3) Medical records for conditions such as: diabetes, cardiac disease, sleep disorders, neurological conditions, etc. If you have questions, please call us.

Per federal requirements, we are unable to provide a DOT certificate at the end of your exam without first reviewing these medical records.

DOT Physical Exams

Excel Chiropractic is a Certified Medical Examiner (CME) and performs DOT physicals in Sioux Falls. These physical examinations look at your current health status and medical history to determine if you are physically fit to drive a commercial motor vehicle.

Alcohol Testing

Excel Chiropractic is certified to perform breath-alcohol testing using industry recognized alcohol detection equipment.

Drug Testing

We are certified to perform drug tests, with options for obtaining results via remote labs or through a quick screen process.

Hearing Tests

Excel Chiropractic provides hearing evaluations for companies throughout the Sioux Falls area. Using an audiometer, we measure hearing to develop a baseline level. Annual rechecks will help document workplace hearing loss.
